This is a union role and the hourly pay rate is $30.35 to $40.47 per hour.
The ideal club lounge attendant will assist with self-service areas, cleans up after guests, assists with food service preparation, serves alcoholic beverages, sets the area up for service and maintain cleanliness, keeps the lounge running smoothly and does their best to ensure all guests leave satisfied.
Other Duties Include:
- Greet owners and guests immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.
- Greet owners and guests in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Anticipate guest’s needs throughout service.
- Complete all the opening and closing duties in the Owner’s Lounge and other F&B stations. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and service area throughout the shift.
- Take accurate food and drink orders from owners and guests.
- Demonstrate knowledge of food menu and beverages, presentation, and preparation.
- Use a positive clear speaking voice, listen to understand requests, respond with appropriate action, and provide accurate information.
- Assist owners and guests as needed with food and beverage service, including serving alcoholic beverages.
- Set up and replenish food and beverages during scheduled hours.
- Brewing coffee and tea.
- Ensure all serving and eating utensils are in excellent, presentable condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of the lounge by cleaning and clearing tables. wiping counters, sweeping, and mopping the floor.
- Ensure cleanup of the Club Lounge which would include but not limited to:
- Turn ON TVs to established channel.
- Bussing tables
- Washing dishes
- Organizing the pantry
- Cleaning the pantry
- Clean unexpected spills
- Report any deficiencies to the Manager on Duty
- Adhere to health department standards.
- Complete special guest requirements.
- Travel between floors with utility cart to pick up dishes, glass and silverware left on floors.
- Requisition food and beverage items and retrieve and store in proper area.
- Setup and clean up all food and Beverage setups prior to opening time.
- Ensure Members Lounge tables, chairs and furniture is setup according to standard layout.
- Food and Beverage inventory and requisition of items.
- Maintains food and beverage service in the lobby.
- Preparation, delivery and set up food and beverage amenities in guest rooms.
- Ability to obtain Food and Beverage handlers certificate by New York State and Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) certification.
- Complete or perform any other reasonable request assigned by management.
In addition to the daily functions, this position will be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, if and when a private function is held in the hotel. i.e., a reception or private dinner the attendant will be tasked.
- Will assist 3rd party vendor events.
- Communicating with the manager should any challenges among Owners and guests will arise.
- Additional duties may be needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Must Be 18 Years of Age
- The individual must possess the allowing skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essentials functions on the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the Owners Lounge continuously to
- Perform essential job functions.
- Ability to carry and move dishes and boxes and other items up to 25 pounds. Ability to reach and move boxes on shelves reaching 9 feet high. Ability to use a 3-footstep ladder.
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous bartending/serving experience in a hospitality environment.
