The Seasonal Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for the Pool Bar and Grill operations, Ensures the expectations of our owners/guests, as well as HGV standards are met and exceeded. Works closely with staff members and departmental managers in regard to staff/guests’ interaction and training for Food &Beverage. Ensure the highest level of productivity and efficiency are achieved. 

Season operates from approximately: May 1 – Sept 30th each year.  

What Will I be doing?

  • As a working F&B Supervisor:
  • Responsible for all duties pertaining to Pool Bar and Grill.
  • Assists management with ensuring that all departmental activities are performed within the guidelines of appropriate policies and procedures and that all Food and Beverage Team Members are trained in the area of food quality, sanitation, safety, departmental/resort policies and procedures and guest/owner service standards. 
  • Participates in all F&B operations on a daily basis to assist with workload and respond to guest/owner inquiries regarding Pool Bar and Grill services.
  • Knowledge and service of menu items and beverage brands. Recommends menus and menu changes to management considering food cost. 
  • Able to order food and beverages for the efficient operations of the Pool Bar, minimizing waste and maximizing profitability.
  • Supervises and accounts for the accurate collection of monies received at the Pool Bar F&B outlet.
  • Determines the resolution of problems arising from guest/owner concerns, inventory, supply issues, staffing issues, and other unusual requests and inquiries.
  • Ensures the provision of special services to owners/guests as advised.
  • As requested, assists management in performing administrative duties which may include budget control, scheduling, purchasing supplies, preparation of performance appraisals, etc.
  • Ensures at the end of each shift that all F&B associates have completed daily checklists and shift closing are accurate.
  • Ensures all guest interactions are handled in a positive, accurate, and efficient manner at all times.
  • Performs in accordance with all state regulations with regards to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Train and empower F&B team to provide a high level of guest service and demonstrates this behavior in own actions.
  • Knowledge and service of menu items and beverage brands as well as cocktail recipes, varieties of beer and wines, soda, water, sugars and other prepared beverages.
  • Performs in accordance with all state regulations with regards to alcohol service and consumption.
  • Serve hot and cold food to guests as needed in a timely manner.
  • Follow all Steps of Service including, but not limited to: greeting/welcoming guests, upselling, establishing rapport, serving, pre-bussing, thanking guest, and inviting guest back.
  • Collect monies for beverages served as well as food served in pool grill area.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard cleaning
  • Prepare bar area in supplies needed such as ice, slice and pit fruit garnishing drinks etc.

What are we looking for:

Required:

  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, using hands and fingers, sitting 
  • 2-3 years of direct food and beverage experience
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience
  • Food Safety Manager Cert., 
  • Virginia Managers’ Alcohol Responsibility Training (MART)
  • First Aid/CPR

Preferred:

  • 2+ years direct food and beverage and retail operations experience in a nice sit down restaurant or 3+ diamond resort
  • Responsible Alcohol Delivery Driver (RADD), and Responsible Sellers & Servers 
  • Moderate noise, outdoor weather conditions, high places, chemicals, extreme heat and/or cold.
  • Valid Driver’s License
