We are in search of a General Manager who is a talented, experienced leader responsible for all facets of Resort Operations , the operational management, exceptional service scores, team culture, profitability of the resort, and works in partnership with the resort’s internal ownership’s Homeowners Association(s) for a flagship resort in Midtown Manhattan.

The salary for this role is $135,000.00- $155,000.00 on an annual basis. This role is also eligible for annual bonus and LTI.

Basic Job Functions:

  • Customer focus by building strong and internal and external customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Instills trust by gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
  • Collaborates and build partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Action oriented taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Advise the leaders of the front office, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to acquire, develop and retain an engaged team.
  • Owner relations
  • Commitment and dedication to our Inspired Hospitality culture.
  • Ensure guest/owner safety and security; maintain crisis management plan.
  • Works closely with developer, homeowners’ association, project management and in-house sales and marketing.
  • Coordinates with business management staff to ensure that accurate records are maintained, and cost controls are monitored and applied
  • Supervises replacement program for the Association as taught by reserve budgets
  • Develops and maintains cost and labor controls to ensure operation within budget
  • Advises owners of local activities that may affect the property and/or property value
  • Conducts periodic inspections of units, building, grounds, noting deficiencies of employees, contractors and physical appearance of property and accurate with most appropriate and least expensive method to make repairs and perform needed maintenance
  • Prepares for and conducts monthly and annual Association(s) and Board meetings and communicate continuously with the Homeowners Association(s) Board of Directors.
  • Attends all meetings and other managerial gatherings
  • Maintains a close working relationship with and contributes to the sales and resales of unit weeks
  • Assures compliance with labor laws and respects areas of responsibilities
  • Develops career path opportunities for department heads.
  • Counsels employees on job-related matters
  • Guides and advises employees to achieve established goals and objectives
  • Builds and supervises guidelines by which all employees are hired, developed, counseled, and terminated.
  • Recommends improvements of resort management’s services and programs
  • Reviews and evaluates all aspects of the Association’s operation and makes recommendations for changes as needed – remains alert to potential problems or areas of concern
  • Confronts challenges with diligence and resiliency
  • Handles risk when the outcome is not certain
  • Accepts change and acts conclusively, sometimes with limited information
  • Responds to owner and guests’ problems incurred and reacts appropriately
  • Apply leadership skills on a day to day basis
  • Ensures that a high standard of service is delivered in a friendly and personalized manner

What are we looking for?
 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • 5+ years experience in a prior General Manager role 
  • Hotel Experience 
  • 3+ years of extensive knowledge in this field 
  • Demonstrate leadership skills such as integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality 
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence in vision during uncertain times 
  • Exhibits direct integrity and support to team members, corporate leaders, owners and guest

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of management experience in a Union Environment 
  • 5+ years of related experience in a similar role 
  • CHA License
